The PBS Short Film Festival elevates the reach and visibility of independent filmmakers from across the country. Since its inception in 2012, hundreds of films celebrating love, acceptance, family, strength, equality, friendship, loyalty and more have been presented under the festival’s banner. The 2023 festival features “Stories in bloom” which represents growing and changing narratives.

- [Narrator 3] Feel like I'm dreaming right now.
It's been a long journey to get back home.
- [Narrator 4] What would you want people to know about your story?
- [Narrator 5] We have to not be afraid.
♪ It's all waiting for us ♪ (upbeat music) - [Narrator 1] The excitement was so great that it made you fearless.
- [Narrator 3] The least that I could do is to fight and try and do something.
- We know that personal stories are what change lives.
- [Narrator 2] Anything is possible.
(upbeat music) That is truly to be.
- [Narrator 1] It was this incredible sense of belonging.
- [Narrator 2] Finally, I wasn't alone.
